Action Items:

Stuart:

  • Figure out when FR meetings are through September, deliver that list to Deb and work out Stuart+Deb meetings through the end of August.
  • Confirm gate policy with the rest of FR.
  • Ask FR to make in shop signage telling people not to wander around and to use the right door.

Deb: Install partition rope between halves of warehouse.

**Freeride’s**** Weekly Schedule

  • Monday: 4:00-7:20 (Youthworks)

Tuesday: 6-10 (Open Shop)

Wednesday: 4-7:20 on the first and 3rd Wednesday and 4-10 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday. (Youthworks and Biweekly Women’s + Trans Night)

Thursday: 4-10 (Youthworks and Open Shop)

Friday: None

Saturday: 1-5 (Open Shop)

Sunday: 5-9:30 (Adult Classes)

Communications Issues:

  • Deb agrees that regular in person meetings with minutes are important and agrees with the sentiment in our earlier letter regarding the need to improve CJ/FR communications.
  • We will meet in the week before Free Ride meetings, once a month for now.
  • Deb and Stuart are not available on Fridays.
  • We should set meeting schedule ahead of time through September.
  • 9:30 am meetings will work well.
  • Deb prefers not to use email.Use phone instead for urgent business.

Operations:

  • Gate procedure:
    • Gate gets closed on Friday and Sunday.
    • Monday and Wednesday – leave small gate open.
    • Tuesday and Thursday – leave open.
    • Saturday – Chris checks with us.
  • FR visitors and staff need to use our own door. Not ok to have folks wandering around the warehouse.

  • Make sure youthworks kids know this.
  • CJ will install a partition rope between warehouse halves.
  • CJ would like FR to promote our door to customers with in shop signage and on our website.
  • They will designate a clear path space with spray paint (this is a project going on throughout the warehouse and it will include the space in front of our shop)
  • Make sure food scrap ends up in the right dumpster. The right dumpster is the big non-metal-scrap dumpster, not the small recycling dumpster with a lid.

Lease:

  • Mike Gable is working on the lease with a real estate attorney. In fact, he’s meeting with her today.
  • They are writing the lease with language that will allow CJ and any subtenants (us and possibly Steel City Biofuels) that make capital improvements to build equity by having an option to sell back improvements or take with them any equipment installed in the building. The language here is yet to be determined, but will probably apply to the utility sink situation.
  • Utilities – we could get our own electric meter.Chip might be able to cover the installation.
  • Vague possibility this could apply to gas too…

Bathrooms/Sink:**

  • Deb expressed an understanding of our decision to not pay additional fees until we have a written lease that includes them.

  • I will suggest to Free Ride that we clean bathroom weekly until we get a lease and resolve the maintenance fee issues. This will help to reduce the workload for Bruce.Bruce will still clean it on Wednesday. It would therefore be best if we cleaned on Saturday, if possible.
  • If we do clean, it is preferred that we do it with cleaners that are non-toxic – CJ buys 7th Gen from the coop.
  • I’ll follow up with Lou about getting a quote on the utility sink.We did not discuss paying for its installation, but all parties agree that the sooner it’s installed the sooner most of the bathroom issues will be resolved.
